Are you looking for a wonderful series of books for teen girls? Or maybe for yourself? Here are some recommended all-time favorites for you to try!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s nothing sadder for a bibliophile than coming to the end of a good book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m always reluctant to turn to the last page, knowing I have to say goodbye to the characters who had become my new best friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is always with great anticipation then, that I embark upon an entire series. Because in a series<\/em> I have the delicious promise of many more hours in the company of carefully crafted characters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve enjoyed many series throughout the years. But there are a few favorites I\u2019ve kept on my bookshelf and read over again. I devoured many of the titles as a teen, while others are authors I discovered in the late-night baby-rocking sessions of motherhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are six series whose characters have become living, breathing, literary friends I’m introducing to my own daughters.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

(And just in case you’re already best friends with each of these characters, I’ve added a few more series suggestions, as well. I’d love to hear your favorites!)<\/p>\n\n\n

1. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019ve seen the movie, or if you\u2019ve already read the book. The Anne of Green Gables series is one that can and should be enjoyed over and over again, at every season of life. The passages that bring me to tears as a mother are very different from those that thrilled me as a teenager. But the Anne books transcend time and generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  3. Anne of the Island<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n

  5. Anne\u2019s House of Dreams<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Anne of Ingleside<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Rainbow Valley<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Rilla of Ingleside<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    While it’s hard to match a literary favorite like Anne with an “E”<\/a>, Miss Buncle, created by D.E. Stevenson, comes close. Start with Miss Buncle’s Book<\/a> <\/em>but don’t miss the others in the series of four!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Secret of the Rose Series by Michael Phillips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Outside of Anne Shirley and Jo March, Sabina is one of my very favorite fictional characters. I shed many a tear onto the pages of her story. The purity and symbolism woven throughout is beautiful, but the patience and purity of love across time and borders makes this a precious tale indeed. My journals are filled with many a copied selection from the Secret of the Rose books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Escape to Freedom<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Dawn of Liberty<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      If you’ve already devoured Secret of the Rose and other series by Michael Phillips (The Stonewycke Trilogy<\/a> and The Stonewycke Legacy<\/a> are other personal favorites), you may enjoy the Shadows Over England series by Roseanna M. White (A Name Unknown<\/em><\/a> is the first book) or The Steadfast Love series by Rachelle Rea Cobb (it begins with The Sound of Diamonds<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      3. O\u2019Malley Family Series by Dee Henderson<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      I like a good mystery, but I don\u2019t like it to be too scary or bloody. This Christian suspense series might not be one I\u2019d want to read when in the house alone late at night, but it\u2019s clean and it\u2019s not too <\/em>creepy. The series follows seven siblings throughout their high-profile jobs and recurring criminal cases that always get too close for comfort. With just enough romance thrown in to keep things interesting, it\u2019s a series you might enjoy even if you\u2019re not the average Christian suspense fan. But my favorite part was the comradery and friendship between the O\u2019Malley siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      2. The Negotiator<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. The Guardian<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. The Truth Seeker<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. The Protector<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      6. The Healer<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      7. The Rescuer<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        If you’re already familiar with the O’Malley Family, you may enjoy The Agency Files (start with Justified Means<\/em><\/a>) or The Hartfield Mysteries (Manuscript for Murder<\/em><\/a> is the first book) from Chautona Havig. For slightly more vintage mysteries, check out Roseanna M. White’s Culper Ring books (Ring of Secrets<\/a> <\/em>is the first) or The Codebreakers (which begins with The Number of Love<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n

        4. French Twist Trilogy by Sandra Byrd<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        This trilogy is a delicious read\u2014literally. Not much depth, just lots of fun and food\u2014mostly cake! Romantic relationships are always made a bit more difficult when they are interwoven with the workplace, as the heroine Lexi Stuart finds out time and again. But if you\u2019re looking for a lighthearted romance, this trilogy (with more than one love triangle!) is sure to satisfy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Let Them Eat Cake<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Bon App\u00e9tit<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Piece de Resistance<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          If you enjoy plenty of culinary references in your fiction, be sure to check out The Saturday Night Supper Club <\/em><\/a>series by Carla Laureano, as well as Lizzy & Jane <\/em>by Katherine Reay<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          5. A Farm Fresh Romance Series by Valerie Comer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          What do you get when three friends buy a farm in northern Idaho with the intent of creating a sustainable communal farm? Farm lit at its best. This series from Valerie Comer is positively delightful, especially if you\u2019re a bit \u201ccrunchy\u201d yourself. These books do feature a lot of kissing, but they also give a realistic glimpse into how the romance can continue long after you say \u201cI do\u201d. While following the development of new relationships in subsequent books, you also get a peek into how the now-married couples deal with pregnancy, infertility, and other life challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          But what makes these books real gems is the honest dialogue between the characters about how they have to come to the point where being a Christian isn\u2019t just a decision they made once, but a relationship that affects everything they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          2. Wild Mint Tea<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. Sweetened with Honey<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n

          5. Plum Upside Down<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
          6. Berry on Top<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            If you’ve enjoyed A Farm Fresh Romance Series, try Valerie Comer’s Urban Farm Fresh Romance (which begins with Secrets of Sunbeams<\/em><\/a>) or the Garden Grown Romance series (Sown in Love<\/em><\/a> is the first book in this Kindle only series).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            6. Aggie\u2019s Inheritance Series by Chautona Havig<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            In Chautona Havig\u2019s books, I have been encouraged in my faith, inspired in my parenting, and challenged in my way of thinking. It\u2019s like reading a novel written by a trusted mentor, because each character and conversation has something to teach me\u2014without any lecturing or sermonizing. I have enjoyed every book I\u2019ve read by Chautona, but the Aggie\u2019s Inheritance series remains a particular favorite. When Aggie literally inherits her sister\u2019s children, both laughter and tears are abundant as she tries to keep her new family together. Each character is sure to become a favorite, so you\u2019ll be delighted to revisit them from time to time in Chautona\u2019s other series (Past Forward<\/em><\/a> is the serial novel that comes next).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              If you like real-life characters who won’t leave you the same, you’ll love the Women of Promise books by Natasha Metzler (Emma and the Reasons<\/a> <\/em>is the first). And of course, there’s Louisa May Alcott’s classic, Little Women<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
