Looking for a character-building resource for your tweens? Here’s one of my favorites for encouraging, inspiring, and entertaining those tween-age kids!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

What resources do you recommend for raising tweens<\/em>? You know, those kids who are no longer “little” but not quite teenagers yet either.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m asked this question often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Probably because I have a bunch of kids (8 is technically considered a “bunch,” right?), and so we’ve done this tween-thing a time or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But also because it’s such an important age – those “in-between” years are so critical – and what can we do for them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I get it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which is why I’m sharing with you a couple of my favorite resources for encouraging, inspiring, and, yes, even entertaining those wonderful tween-age kids.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ready? Da-ta-ta-da!! <\/em>(I’m guessing I just embarrassed our older teenagers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We love Jonathan Park and The Adventum  Audio Adventures!<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our older children listened to these engaging stories for hours. And I mean, hours<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And so those kids grew up, and then the younger set began enjoying them every bit as much as their older siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our tweens liked these stories because they’re fun, fascinating, and entertaining. They would literally beg<\/em> us to listen to these stories.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our kids would listen to Jonathan Park while they were building Lego creations. They’d listen while outside pulling weeds (yes, I’m serious). And we’d listen to them while driving or on road trips (because they’re stories that even I, the parent, enjoyed hearing).<\/p>\n\n\n

6 Reasons This Mom is a Fan of these Audio Adventure Series<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1.    Faith-building<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I love how these intelligent and thought-provoking stories encourage the faith in our tweens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.   Highly educational<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I know. You thought I said something about these being “entertaining,” and so they are. But they’re also surprisingly informational. Let’s just say that my 11-year-old knows more about fossils and dinosaurs than I probably do – and all kinds of other fascinating scientific facts (thanks to Jonathan Park<\/a>).  And The Adventum<\/a> sparks their imagination and a curiosity to read the Bible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.   Far better than screen time<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As a mom, I’m concerned that our kids will spend too much time in front of either a computer or a movie screen – and so I appreciate having this great listening option. One of those win-wins for parent and child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not easy to find in this day and age.  I can actually feel good about what our kids are listening to – rather than worrying about what “message” is coming through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.   Encourages godly thinking in an ungodly world<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As parents, we try to teach and model for our kids how to do what’s right. Both The Adventum and Jonathan Park audio adventures<\/a> encourage our kids to do that as well – to make good decisions, even if it’s not “popular” or “easy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No, not exactly.
